Hjo Installation is in a strong development and growth phase and is now looking for a business-oriented Business Controller for the East and North Regions. You will work closely with the regional managers, the CEOs of the subsidiaries, the central finance function, and report to the group's CFO.
About the role
The role involves close collaboration with both regional managers and leaders of subsidiaries to ensure efficiency and profitability. You will also work closely with two other Business Controllers within the group, where you will jointly develop working methods, share analysis, and support each other in both operational and strategic matters. As a Business Controller, you play a key role in ensuring that the regions' financial and operational goals are met through detailed analysis, follow-up, and reporting. The geography is broad and varied, with work ranging from subsidiaries in Stockholm to operations in northern Sweden in industrial and mining-related environments. Travel to the subsidiaries is a natural and recurring part of the assignment. To thrive in the role, you want to be on-site, build relationships, and create trust within the organization. You will be based in one of the offices in Kista/Årsta, with possible placement in Östersund and Sundsvall.
In the role, you will among other things:
- Collaborate with the regional managers in the East and North Regions, focusing on prioritizing the right efforts for the right companies
- Drive business development and profitability analyses in the subsidiaries, for example related to pricing, bids, markups, and resource utilization
- Act as a pedagogical support to the CEOs and finance managers in the subsidiaries and contribute to increased business and financial understanding
- Follow up and analyze larger projects with a focus on project accounting and progressive profit recognition, as well as support during the integration of acquisitions and system implementations
In addition, you have a central role in the monthly closing process and are involved in its further development. You are responsible for preparing and presenting monthly reports to the CFO and management.
Your experience
We are looking for someone with an academic background in finance or equivalent and a couple of years of experience in qualified accounting. Experience in project accounting and progressive profit recognition is highly meritorious. You have a good understanding of closing, analysis, and financial relationships. It is a plus if you have had a business-oriented controller role with experience from contracting, installation, construction, or service operations, or from another project-intensive environment. It is also advantageous if you have worked in a decentralized organization with multiple subsidiaries and are comfortable managing different conditions, systems, and working methods simultaneously. Excellent skills in Excel are a prerequisite, and experience with systems such as Fortnox, Projektportalen, Symbrio, or Power BI is considered a plus.

You are pedagogical and communicative and have an easy time explaining financial relationships in a way that creates engagement and understanding. At the same time, you are analytical, self-driven, and confident in your skills, with the ability to set demands and drive issues forward. You thrive in a fast-paced environment with short decision-making paths, where structure is not always fully established and where flexibility and decisiveness are crucial. You build relationships naturally and gain energy from many contact points and variety in your daily work.
